Retired After 39 Years of Service to the Judiciary

Uz. Khalid Qasim, Haa Alif Dhidhoo, Rosemead (Kaafu Thulusdhoo, Rosey) who served the Judiciary continuously for over 39 years has retired. At the time of retirement, he was serving as the Deputy Director General at the Department of Judicial Administration.

Uz. Khalid Qasim joined the Judiciary on 11 July 1977 as a Male’ Atoll Judge. Following which he held the post of Judge at Male’ Atoll Himmafushi Court, Magistrate at the Male’ Atoll Thulusdhoo Court, Senior Magistrate at the Thulusdhoo Court, Chief Magistrate of Male’ Atoll, Director of Judicial Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Assistant Director General at the Department of Judicial Administration and the Deputy Director General.

During his years of service at the Judiciary, Uz. Khalid Qasim rendered invaluable services to the sector. He was an honest and truthful employee who worked tirelessly for the development of the Judiciary.

With the challenges related to the job, Uz. Khalid Qasim worked tirelessly to find substantial solutions for the betterment of all staff. Uz. Khalid Qasim rendered invaluable services to the entire Judiciary.

At the retirement event, the Chief Justice of the Maldives Hon. Uz. Abdullah Saeed noted that the retirement of Uz. Khalid Qasim will leave a void in the Judiciary and especially at the Department of Judicial Administration.
