Agreement Signed for the Construction of the New Magistrate Court Building Meemu Mulak

In order to alleviate the space problem faced by the Magistrate Court of Meemu Mulak, an agreement has been signed today to construct a new building for the island Court. The work has been handed over to S.J Construction and Trade Pvt Ltd the company who secured the tender for the project.

In an event held today to sign the agreement at the Department of Judicial Administration, Deputy Director Aishath Hussain signed from the Department and Director of S.J Construction and Trading Pvt Ltd Uz. Shihad Ibrahim signed the agreement. The Department has assigned Civil Engineer Asraar as the consultant for this project.

The Contract was signed to complete the work within 249 days. The total cost of the project stands at 6,011,742.39 Rufiyaa.

The new building of the Magistrate Court of Meemu Mulak is planned with 2 Court rooms, staff area, conference hall, consultancy room and a waiting area for lawyers. In addition a prison cell area is available to keep suspects in remand who are brought to Court and also a waiting area is available for the police officers who escort the suspects to Court.
